Avoid Graffiti Bylaw Fines

Did you know that many cities, districts and municipalities will fine commercial and residential property owners for not removing graffiti from their properties??

Well, it’s true.

Several of our clients often call us when it’s too late and fines have been issued against the property and the City has forwarded you a letter indicating that a fine has been issued. To be fair to the local bylaw authorities, ensuring streets are kept looking graffiti-free is not any easy task and can cost local taxpayers huge dollars. So although controversial, the responsibility download to property owners is not entirely unjustified.

To avoid this, take on a proactive graffiti removal approach when it comes to your property. Make efforts to have graffiti removed withing 48 hours of it appearing as that will substanitally decrease the ‘re-tag’ rate and in the end, cost you less. No fines, less graffiti and less frequency. For several years, we’ve seen how cost-effective this appoach can be in reducing costs associated with property vandalism.
